I was looking for a surge protector with a long cord. This one fit the bill. I like the flat space saving plug on the end of that long cord. The outlets on the side work well with the transformer plugs. I can't say whether or not it provides good surge protection. I haven't lost any equipment. But then power surges are very rare in my community.
