These steno pads are outstanding. They have an opaque plastic cover that protects from moisture, and a good, solid cardboard back to provide a nice platform for writing. The paper is of good quality. The wire binding is the least messy of any I have seen. I use a magic marker on the cover to write the beginning and end dates of the journals/to-do lists, etc. which I use these notebooks for.

These are my top choice for notepads. Unlike the knock offs at Staples and Office Max, the cardboard back is thick enough that they don't bend when you are writing. And the rings are just large enough to be a perfect pen holder.
