4Great, but heavy and bulkyAug 28, 2007
By Ahania
This is a great-looking travel tumbler. It is spill-proof, which means you can put it in a bag. Also, the caribiner clip allows you to hang it from a backpack. Like the Nissan bottle I keep on my desk at work, this baby keeps things cold for hours and hours (and it almost keeps my coffee too hot!).

The other reviewer is right: I've never met a cup holder that would hold this bulky thing. And be warned that this is heavy. That means it's tough and can take a beating, but it also means that if your other stuff is fairly light and you have this hanging off your bag, you will definitely feel it. Be careful not to knock someone on the head with this if commuting by bus, subway, or train!

3Good Product, Terrible Warranty ServiceAug 17, 2010
By M. Ber.
I ordered and received this item in April of 2010 and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is effectively leak-proof and kept my coffee hot for hours. However, after 2-3 weeks of use the rubber bottom come off. This issue, I thought, would be of no consequence however, as one reason I purchased this travel mug was its lifetime warranty.

I'm sad to say that I have found this [warranty] aspect of the mug wanting: I returned the travel mug to Thermos in May and as of August 17th am still without my replacement. One month after returning the mug Thermos mailed me a different travel mug with a handle. This did not seem like much of an issue, but I paid more to get this travel tumbler and my ideal use of the mug, with its ability to drink from any surface on the lid, makes having a large handle a pain. I was then forced to return this mug as well, and I did so more than one month ago. My final issue came today, as I drove to run an errand and was reminded that I still have no means to bring my coffee with me. I called to check the status of my return only to find that Thermos recorded the receipt of my last mug, but have inexplicably chosen not to to send me the correct one until, apparently, I call. So again we repeat this process, hopefully with a different outcome.

5Thermos is the best!Feb 15, 2010
By S. A. Wolff
I have three Thermos brand bottles and highly recommend each one. I originally bought the 18 oz. hydration bottle to use as a "green" water bottle. I can fill it with ice cubes and water and still have ice in it eight hours later. It is easy to clean with a bottle sponge and easy to carry around. I didn't get the one with the carabiner, but if I buy another one I will. Next I bought the 16 oz mug with the handle and carabiner. I like that mug, but the rubber grip on the handle started to slip off all the time. Eventually I lost the grip somewhere. I contacted Thermos to see if they could send me a new grip and they informed me their products have a lifetime warranty. All I had to do was ship them the mug and they, in turn, shipped me a brand new mug. Sweet! Next I bought one of these 18 oz Tumblers and this is what I use for my coffee every day. I prefer this one now to the mug with the handle. That's just a personal preference as all the Thermos products do what they are supposed to do: keep hot things hot and cold things cold. My co-workers and friends think this tumbler has been surgically attached to my hand because I am always carrying it (I drink a LOT of coffee :) When I am not actually holding the tumbler, I can easily attach it to my bag or belt loop with the carabiner. Yes, the tumbler, mug, and water bottle are a bit heavy, but their ruggedness makes it worth it. The mouth of the tumbler is too small for a larger spoon, but if I want to add anything to my coffee (Irish cream in the evenings), I just pour it in, twist the top closed, and rock the tumbler back and forth a few times to mix. Easy.

The bottom line is this: Thermos makes great products that they back up with a lifetime warranty. I won't buy anything else.

4Thermos Travel TumblerJan 10, 2010
By Thomas G. Witte
Great thermos cup. Great quality that has a good vacuum and keeps cold items cold and hot items hot. The top screws on either partially(for drinking) or fully to seal completely. A really nice feature is that to drink from it when closed, just unscrew it a half of a turn to drink. Then when done close that 1/2 turn and it is closed and completely leak free.

Cons
Opening is too small to put anything but small ice cubes in one at a time. We now tend to use it for hot drinks only. We bought another one for cold drinks that has a larger opening.
Keep your eys on the bottom rubber seal (There are 2 on the cup) while cleaning, it can come off and if it does the top leaks, even when closed leaks.

5Almost too hot!Feb 04, 2009
By Omnicharm
This thermos is awesome. I really enjoy the ability to drink out of it like a coffee mug by partially unscrewing the lid yet I can also seal it down completely and toss it in my backpack. As my title mentioned, though, do be careful with just-made coffee or tea because it will still be scalding hot after an hour or two if you preheat the thermos as recommended.
