I find it odd that Amazon.com does not stock the Swingline 747 stapler. But if 14 bucks at a third-party seller is what it takes to obtain one of these babies, then okay.

This is no cheap plastic toy. This is a real "business machine", a necessity for the upwardly mobile business maven. Clean lines of cold metal convey a purposefulness and severity at home on any executive's desk. Yet this is the stapler for everyone; it's inexpensive and anyone can operate it with ease.

Sure there are lots of staplers to chose from. But remember, if you buy a cheap plastic stapler, you're only cheating yourself.

If you staple a lot, go with the Swingline commercial modelMar 11, 2009

The Swingline 747 is alright, alas at times it does not do the job. It will occasionally smush a staple on top of your documents, rather than neatly affixing them together. Best to go with the Swingline 767 (a.k.a. Swingline Premium Commercial Stapler) if you do much stapling at all. The bonus with the 767 is that it has a nice heft and therefore doubles as a weapon if someone in the office really irks you. (Note: don't actually use it as a weapon, unless you want to go in for assault - the weight of the thing could lay somebody out. While that can be satisfying to imagine, try not to let the dream turn into reality.) I unfortunately left my 767 at my old job - too honest to take it. To this day, I regret that move. Now I am stuck with a subpar model, and searching amazon for a good deal on the 767.

I humbly agree with B. R. Kmack. This is a fine stapler. After test driving many other brands and models, I settled with the 747 model from Swingline. When stapling many pages together, the 747 makes and audible "staple" sound, but not in the overcompensating macho way that other brands are known for. The 747 exudes confidence and lets the paper know you mean business without all the fluff. There is a handy button on the bottom that permits you to open the stapler in order to staple against walls. The 747 also has a thingy-doo that can flip 180 degrees so you can make your stapler staple things in that weird configuration where the "arms" of the staple bend awkwardly outwards--a feature a lot of the competitors have missed out on. While diversity is important in some circles, as far as staplers go, the same is Yes, as long as it is the 747 by Swingline.

It's a Swingline. It's heavy. It's stable. It's black. It doesn't fail. Use Swingline staples as recommended and never buy another stapler until this one gets stolen.

Probably very much like the stapler your father used to have this Swingline product is a workhorse. It's utilitarian, useful, and strong.
We've little necessity for stapling large number of papers but we can say that it staples 25 sheets effortlessly.

There seem to be a number of staplers boasting rulers, ergomonic handles, etc. But, all we want is a stapler that works, and this is it.
