4Good but a bit priceyFeb 19, 2007
By Seth Naugler
I keep one of these on my workbench and use a lot of tape in the construction of guitars. The dispenser is heavy which can be both a blessing and a curse for me. It's hard to move one-handed which is usually how I find myself when I need tape. The outside of the dispenser is smooth and tapers upward slightly so it can't be picked up one-handed. Its weight, however, keeps the dispenser from moving when you pull the tape which was clearly the point of the design and I wouldn't want to change that.

My dad, a commercial artist, had one of these (or two) near his drawing board for decades. His needs were different than mine in that he seldom needed to move it. I think he liked it a lot (he did have two).

Only complaint: price. The dispenser goes for more than twice what I would expect it to cost.

5Expensive but the cost is worth the extra weight if you need itApr 22, 2011

We use these dispensers at work because we do a great deal of fast taping with one hand while holding down documents with the other. This is the only dispenser we have found that would not move across the table when you grab the tape and pull quickly (even the weighted one roll C25 smaller model moves a little bit). It's also nice to have the two rolls because if you are using the 1 inch tape you can automatically have a second roll ready to go. It seems a little silly to have to pay this much for the weight, but if you need it, it's worth not having the dispenser work its way across the table. If you don't do high speed taping or you just do limited taping, the lighter (and much less expensive) C25 would probably be fine for you. Watch the handling charges on theses items. I tried ordering a couple and the shipping/handling came up as about 35% of the cost of the item. Shop around.

4Heavy DutyDec 21, 2010

The best part of the product is the weight. It's heavy so it doesn't move much, or at all when pulling tape. The tape/core sits on the dispenser using gravity only. If you pull the tape out and UP, the tape/core will come out of place. Therefore, you must pull the tape horizontally to avoid that. If not for this issue, I would give it 5 stars.
