5Only Glue Stick I UseJan 09, 2007

I'm a mixed media paper artist and when I need to use a glue stick I reach for the UHU. It is the only one I buy and use. The glue sticks and holds, I don't have to go back and re-glue, so it makes my life easier. I keep a supply in my studio and when my supply gets low I start looking for the best deal on the net. Thanks Amazon for carrying a great product!

I bought this glue to apply tissue to my airplane models, and it works great. It also works great keeping your horses in line, even though only 3 of my horses can read English, just showing the glue stick to any of the horses will instantly cause them to behave.. I guess they really like the awesome purple color.

The purple dye on the glue stick is an excellent idea. You can see the part that is already glued and the part that you still need to apply glue on. It works like a lipstick, if there is no more glue, you just twist the bottom and up comes more.

This glue is not as strong as the other glues, even on paper. Not as smooth and easy to apply as some others. Texture seems to feel grainy, it sort of crumbles - but not the kind that make a mess. The color vanishes after a few minutes, it dries transparent just like an Elmer's glue which opaque white at first and then turns clear when it dries. The top is an easy twist-off not the snap off which is a good thing. This way it is more sealed and not likely to dry up.

The size is perfect for small projects and crafts. Very easy to store, you can just throw it in the drawer and forget about it. Available in different tube sizes.

I'll give it 5 stars but it is not a very strong glue.

teaching middle school art & various paper crafting classes in the summer leaves me quite a critic on materials ... uhu glue sticks are my runaway favorite ... these are the larger of the two sizes & highly recommended for volume coverage ... super thick & sticky ... goes on transluscent & dries clear with minimal 'lumpy bumpyness' ... i would suggest the smaller size for precision ... buying in bulk like this saved me about $0.75 per unit over an 'a la carte' purchase in an art store ... great product
