Description:

Bookcase features a strong steel exterior, shelf construction, and solid fiberboard back. Plastic, snap-in radius corners make assembly easy and add to the overall strength. Shelves, except the bottom one, adjust at 1" increments during assembly. Generous 12" deep steel shelves accommodate three-ring binders and large publications. Fixed bottom is counted as a shelf. Bookcase is made with a high percentage of recycled material.

Ah Safco...we meet again.Apr 10, 2009

Sadly I bought two shelves from Safco, please read my other review on the smaller one. Keep in mind that all of those issues apply here, as well as a couple more.

First of all, the shelf is dangerously unstable; tip over and kill you unstable. Second, there is a massive gap between shelves on the top half and the bottom.

I chose to keep this (see my other shelf review for my slightest experiance with Safco's customer service) but I finally resorted to detaching the top and bottom halves and using them as two smaller shelves. They work moderatly but are still very unstable and have to be balanced against other shelves. Other shelves that are stable. Shelves not from Safeco.

If you are desperate for shelves, might I suggest you go into the nearest alley and find one in the trash that has been exposed to the elements for years...it will most assuredly be far more sufficient.
