5Great lamp/projectorJan 27, 2011

All,
I purchased this item last week, received it the following. I have had an InFocus 72 for the past 2 years now. Love the quality specially the HDMI feature. HDMI makes the screen look great. I am now building a 9 x 16 foot screen for my backyard movie/boxing matches. I most def. rate this a 5 star. Recommend to everyone looking for a projector and not looking to spend too much cash.

44 years and still going strongSep 15, 2010

I have an Infocus IN76 projector purchased and installed in April 2006. It has the original bulb with almost 3500 hours on it ( as of Sept 2010). This is a bright projector used in a HT room with varying amounts of light. It is still performing beautifully on the 96" screen. Movies look gorgeous, sports are gigantic and well detailed. Highly recommended! Hope this helps.

52nd bulb to last at least 3,500+ hoursJan 09, 2010

I don't normally post reviews, but after reading the only other review I decided to post my experience. I am currently on my 3rd bulb for my IN76 and have just ordered my 4th bulb.

Now, I use my projector as my primary TV, so I put about 3,000 hours on it every 12-18 months.

I replaced my first bulb at about 1,850 hours, so that it could serve as a backup if a future bulb blew.

I replaced my next bulb at 3,600 hours, having lost track of how long it had been.

I now just ordered a replacement bulb (my third) and again, kind of lost track of the hours. It is sitting at 4,308 on the current bulb.

The projector itself has 9,783 total hours on it.

To date, I haven't had a single bulb failure, but have replaced them as they have dimmed and crossed over the 3,000 hour mark, or in this case, 4,000 hours.

I keep it in 'low power' mode for the first 1,200-1,500 hours, and then as it dims at about that age, I put it in high power mode until I replace it.

Based on my experience, I wouldn't hesitate to get another Infocus.

1Better off buying another projectorJan 09, 2010
By Patton
I purchased this bulb in November 2008, it died in December 2009. Checked my lamp hours: 486. I posted this on projector forums and some said I was lucky to get that much. So if you are willing to pay about 72 cents an hour go ahead and buy this lamp. The 2000/3000 hours claim is completely wrong. This is my second bulb in two years. I wish I had done my research because this company has the worst support and their projectors are known for earlier failures. Don't waste your money on this bulb. You are better off buying a new projector.
