5Great for children with Autism hypersensitive hearingSep 27, 2010
By eunice "eign"
My six year old son received these as a gift. He is autistic and has hypersensitive hearing. These really help him. He can hear our voices through the earmuffs, but he can't hear a lot of the other sounds that bother him. On average he wears them about four to five hours a day. (because they are tight they also help with his sensory needs) We love them! The only down side is that prolonged use irritates the skin; because the plastic material heats and is not breathable. (they get sweaty) regardless these are great, we are very satisfied! we're buying him a few extra sets.

5I Can Still HearMar 05, 2006
By P. Huey
I use this nearly every single day. I work with jets and this provides more than adequate hearing protection.

Highlights:

Folds in on itself to make for more compact storage.

Lightweight

Good hearing protection from longterm noise.

Problems I've Encountered:

Because of frequent use, the headband is bent.

If I wear glasses, noise sometimes leaks from the top of the ear.

Overall, these are better than the EP's that work provides me with. As for the protection, well I have to wear ear plugs as well as my EP's, but these would seem fine enough by themselves.

3noise rating should be higherFeb 17, 2008
By Bartok Kinski "A casual stroll through the lunatic asylum shows that faith does not prove anything."
I used these when crossing on a freight ship from Europe to New York City, as my cabin was located next to the very loud engine room. I slept with them on and they were bent when I woke up each time. They don't block out that much noise, rating should be higher but it's better than nothing. Also noted: I felt doubly nauseous as I became sea sick and dizzy from hearing sensory depravation. I would recommend not shaving one's head if you wear them for prolonged periods as I developed a rash.
