2You are going to get model # PA70007Jun 29, 2011

You don't get the DataShark (Paladin) model # 70007P when you buy this. Instead what they send you is DataShark (Paladin) model # PA70007.

DataShark (Paladin) model # 70007P has the DataShark 70012, 70017 Punchdown tool that you can remove and replace the blade within the low cost handle. Couple of links below showing the punchdown tool you get with DataShark (Paladin) model # 70007P.

DataShark (Paladin) model # PA70007 has the DataShark 70034 110 Non-Impact Punchdown tool that you can't remove the blade. Basically a disposable punchdown tool. The link below shows the punchdown tool that you get with DataShark (Paladin) model # PA70007.

They sent me replacements two times with the model # PA70007 after I let them know that they sent me the wrong one (PA70007). After sending me the wrong one (PA70007) three times they refunded me, because they don't have any DataShark (Paladin) model # 70007P.

If you are looking for a low cost DataShark (Paladin) network tool kit with a punchdown tool that you can replace the blades then try the DataShark 70016 Network Bundle for just a few dollars more. The Amazon link to DataShark 70016 Network Bundle is on the next line.

I decided to go for Paladin Tools 4908 Datacomm Pro Starter Toolkit. This kit is almost $60 more, but the quality is truly professional compare to the DataShark versions. I also get a pressure adjustable impact punchdown handle 3570 with 110 Blade 4572, a sweet SureStrip Scissors 1931, Data SureStrip 1116, All-in-One Data & Phone Tool (WE/SS-style) 1556, a pouch and some cat5e modular plugs. The Amazon link to Paladin Tools 4908 Toolkit is on the next line.

Hope this helps you in getting the right tools into your hands.

4John Whiteker - InstallerJan 24, 2010

I recently purchased this same kit at Home Depot for the same price. I feel that it's a pretty good value overall. If you're expecting much out of the punchdown tool, then look elsewhere. It's not spring loaded like I'd hoped for. It's just a push down tool with a big handle, but it does work and it will cut the wire excess pretty well. The stripping tool works pretty well with a little tweaking. The blade is very sharp and will actually cut into the individual wires if you're not careful, but with a light touch and adjusting the set screw, it works pretty well. The crimper I have been very pleased with. I did an entire network install this week with it and it never failed to leave a good solid crimp. The RJ45 plugs that come with the kit are actually very good quality as well. Neither tool has a great wire cutter for trimming the wires once you have them flattened out, but it will get you by. I chose this kit because of the carry case and the price. The case hinges look a little weak, but for $40.00, I'd say this kit is a bargain since many of the other crimpers of similar quality are $40-$75 alone.

5Gets the job doneSep 23, 2009

Everything works as it should. You get a cable stripper, punch down tool, and Ethernet plug crimper. Also included is ten RJ45 (Ethernet) plugs with which to crimp. Me and a couple friends wired our house with Ethernet cables and everything is working flawlessly. We did use a very expensive cable tester that we borrowed from work just to make sure we wired everything correctly.

5Excellent PackageFeb 03, 2010

Excellent package of network tools. The kit contains all of the necessary tools needed to make cables including wiring diagrams. The storage case is real handy in keeping everything in it's place. So far, I have made over 20 cables without a dud. Great product and Amazon 's price and service was great.

5Good Product!May 07, 2010
By Kevin P. Mahar
This is probably one of the best products of this type you can buy. For what you get vs. the price it can't be beat. The crimpers worked flawlessly for terminating ends, the wire stripper adjusts easily and works perfectly, and I have not used the punch down tool yet. Bonus for this product is it comes with its own hard plastic carrying case. This is not the highest quality bundle, but I'm not using this everyday for hours on end. If you need a cheap functional set of networking tools this is a must buy. If you plan on using this daily for an extended period of time, look towards a ratcheting crimper.
