5best value for moneyJan 05, 2011
By Debeli
I've used this binoculars for three years for nature (mostly birdwatching) in different conditions (sea, mountains, winter, summer...).
These are not waterproof by specification but mine are still good after dozen of heavy showers. It's sturdy enough if you use it with regular care (avoid falls). They're not fogproof so have that in mind when you take it outside from your backpack/car/house during winter. You will have to wait for 10-15 minutes to use it because of fog. Dioptre adjustment wheel often goes in + or - direction during transport (you can't lock it) but after some time you just start to check that regularly before use. It's light to carry in your hand all day.
And finally, image quality is for this price range probably best! You will not be able to see nice colors in shades, dusk or dawn as you will have to spend much more money for that, but for 95% of your time in nature this item is great.
I would say these binoculras are best buy option for amateur nature lover. Ofcourse, if you have more money, go for something better (nitrogen filled, roof prism, etc.)

5I've bought cheap binocs before, but these are the best for the $Mar 06, 2009

Very light; I suspect there are some plastic lenses in there somewhere. Sharp (even for astronomical use which is demanding), relatively bright, very well collimated. If you are over 45 years old, there's no reason to get 50mm since your pupil will not open enough to take advantage of the bigger exit pupil that 50mm binocs provide. You're just carrying around extra weight & paying more. Liked them so much I gave a pair as a gift.

4Nice Binoculars!Jul 22, 2008

These are very good quality binoculars. For this price they would be hard to beat.
I now have these in 8x40 and a pair in 10x50 of this same type & use them for birding in my back yard & along the coast. I would rate these glasses equal to those costing 10 times the price.

5Good binoculars for the priceJun 20, 2011

Light weight, does not look like a toy, rubber eyepieces, good case, clear and stable image, easy focusing, diopter adjustment - very important to me.
I am glad that there has not bought 10x50 - I do not have iron hands and no tripod.

5Great for price; and great, period.Mar 01, 2012

I've owned about 6 pairs of binos from different manufacturers for astronomical and general use. These give the most bang for buck, without a doubt. They throw up a bright, contrasty, sharp image for the central 2/3 of the field of view. Great for daytime use; pretty good for astro. As others have said, they are surprisingly light. If you want better optics, be prepared to spend $500 more. These are great everyday binos.
