2Does not work with the iGo splitter!Nov 07, 2009
By Doron Avizov
We always use the iGo splitter to charge either a GPS and a phone or two phones at the same time. Never had a problem with Blackberries and Treos. If the iGo splitter is connected to the iGo charger, even if I am trying to charge only the iPhone 3Gs and nothing is plugged in to the other end of the splitter, the phone does not recognize that it's plugged into anything and does not charge. If I remove the splitter and plug this tip directly into the iGo charger cable then it charges the phone. That's ridiculous and unacceptable. I'm blaming iGo for that, not the phone, because clearly the splitter just being inline changes something as the phone only plugs into the tip.

If you don't have and don't need to use the iGo splitter then this tip should work just fine for charging your iPhone 3Gs. We have not tried it with any other Apple devices. If you need to use the iGo splitter to charge multiple devices then don't waste your money on this tip. I've tried 3 of them and they all behave the same.

1Doesn't work with new Iphone 3gsJul 13, 2009
By Daniel Sutter
Message comes up on my new Iphone 3GS "charger not supported". Not sure if I have the wrong tip, but it said it suppors the iphone on the package. I was so confident I threw away the packaging as soon as I opened it. Now a few days later I decided to check it before leaving on a trip and no luck.

5Works perfectly for meDec 06, 2009
By B. Saxey
I have had an iGo charger for many years and have never had a problem. I recently purchased the tip for my new iPhone 3GS (32 meg) and sure enough, it works fine. It also works on my wife's 1st gen iPhone great. It is the only charger either of us uses. I can confirm that the iGo will NOT charge an iPhone with the iGo splitter attached (I think because the power is shared between the two and is therefore reduced below the level the iPhone needs) but this is a problem with the splitter (and hence a bad review there) and not this tip. I have both REV A and REV B (of this tip) and they both charge fine.

1iGo to another brand because this thing SUCKSJul 09, 2009
By S. C. Dominguez
I can't understand how this thing gets a good review. I've had an iGo for four years now. My first adapter for an NEC phone was fine. I never had problems with it. Then, when I moved to a Motorola RAZR V9 the problems started. The tip would wiggle loose and the charging process would stop. I'd have to wiggle it back into position to get it to charge. This was extremely annoying. After a year, it was pretty much useless and no amount of wiggling would get it to charge, so I had to buy a new tip. After a few months I started to have the same problem. I figured that maybe it was just the Motorola tip that cause the problem because of its design. Well, when I got my new iPhone 3GS, I tracked one of these iGo tips down, and sure enough it worked! I was happy until a week later, it started to have the same problems that my old Motorola tips had. I have an iGo wall outlet charger too, and it has the same issue, so I know it is a problem with these tips.

I think this whole iGo system is a great idea, but it is poorly executed. I'm not abusive with my equipment either. If you've had a good experience with it, great! But I'll not spend another dime on this crap. In fact, I returned this tip a week after I bought it.
