Inorder to use this DVD+RW 8X disk, make sure u have recent firmware version of your DVD drive, than you wont have any probs to using it! To download recent firmware go to your DVD drive manufacturers website. I have NEC3540A drive and Pioneer DV-588A-S DVD player works on both with no problem.

These disks work great with a Pioneer DVR-112D burner (installed in an Apple PowerMac G5 2.7 Dual). Now that 8x writing to REWRITEABLE disks is a reality, one can finally utilize RW disks without the performance penalty of 2x/4x media.

Per other reviewers, make sure that a) your burners's firmware is up-to-date, and b) your burner supports a MINIMUM of 4x write speed to DVD+RW disks. I can confirm that the latter requirement -- stated on the packaging -- is a must. (My 1st-generation MacBook Pro 17" laptop, which has a burner that only supports 2x rewriting, refuses to burn these disks. That said, once they have been written to, my MacBook Pro reads them just fine.)

I've been re-writing on these 8X Memorex DVD+RW disks for over a year without any problems. Just ordered another box because backups are getting bigger and needed a few more. Both my DVD Drives are Lite-On LH-20a1h ATA and a SHM-165H6s ATA.

Don't buy it. My NEC DVD RW drive (model: ND 3520A. it is a 8X DVD+RW drive) does not not recognize it. I use NERO ULTRA V.7.
