Good Quality & Reliable DVD-R BlanksOct 25, 2008

This is one of the several brands I find reliable for DVD-Rs. I barely find a coaster on the Memorex DVD-R's. It is as par as with the Maxells, Verbatim, Sony's and TDKs that I have used before. Try to stay away from unknown brands that is kind of a hit or miss.

This is the best way if you want to print your own titles and graphics. I use an old Epson R200 with a CD/DVD printer carriage. Using in combination with Paint Shop Pro editor, it works perfect. I stopped doing the stamp sticker label as it gives me problems with air bubbles and seems to make the DVD heavier to spin.

The thing with DVD's or CD's is that when you find a bad one, it seems to be bunched into the same stack as they were manufactured at the same place and at the same time. My recommendation is not to burn DVDs or CDs using the maximum speed, the chance of a bad burn tend to be much much less if you use the next slower speed indicated on the media. Same as filling up the data capacity, 4200mb seems to work best for me as filling up the DVD to the edge may become problematic.

I have had no problems with these DVDs. Use them for vacation videos and photo slide shows I have edited using Vegas Movie Studio 9.0. After all my work of editing, I sure want to have a good DVD that will burn properly. My video cambera records in HD and the quality of the DVD is fabulous. The "front" prints beautifully using my HP Photosmart C5580 printer and "Sure Thing CD Labeler Deluxe 5" software. I imprint pictures relative to the DVD on the front so I can tell at a glance what is on that particular DVD. I am very happy with this product. I also use the same brand CD's for music. They too perform beautifully.

HORRIBLE!!!

Bought a 10-pack and 5/10, literally HALF of the discs were UNFORMATTED and UNUSABLE! Will NEVER use Memorex again!

Even with the $7 shipping charge, these DVDs were still about $5 less than at the local Office Supply store. If you need DVDs in a hurry, don't want tacky print on the front of them or want to print on them yourself, and can't wait for a good sale at a local store, this is definitely a good deal. Shipped pretty fast too. I received them 3 or 4 days after ordering, with standard shipping.
