5Good blank discsApr 08, 2008
By E. Alli
I've had trouble with some brands of blank DVDs in the past, but these Maxell discs are good ones. I've had no problems with them at all.

5Great discs, great valueAug 04, 2009
By S. D. Johnson
First, it is important to remember that whether blank discs will work well for you depends on your combination of DVD burner and burning software. Before investing in a lot of one disc type, you should try a small batch to see how they work on your current setup. If they don't work so well, don't throw them away, just shelve them for the day when you'll have something slightly different.

My setup uses internal and external Sony burners on two machines. One machine is Windows 2000 Pro running Nero 6.x and the other is Windows XP running Nero 7.x (free version, which comes with the burner). These discs work great on both setups with only 1 or 2 coasters out of every 100-200 discs burned.

The discs have a nice upper surface, with plenty of space to write your information. The texture of the surface is smooth and not as "sticky" as the Sony discs tend to be, so my MAM-A DVD pens work well and leave nice dark writing, which is easy to read. The brand information on the upper surface is confined to a small area on each side, leaving at least 80% of the surface clear for writing information about the programs recorded on the disc.

When sold from Amazon at the current price (under $25 per 100 pack), these are an extremely good value. Additionally, they can be shipped with Prime shipping in 2 days for no additional cost, making them an even greater value.

Highly recommended.

3Damaged in shipping (ANTOnline )Sep 24, 2008
By E. Chang
I've ordered 100-count spindles several times before (from other sellers) but this was the first time they came damaged. In fact, crushed. I complained to the seller (ANTOnline) and they said that Amazon does not allow replacements to be sent out, only returns. That's odd, I'm pretty sure I've gotten replacements from Amazon before. In fact, Amazon leaves it at the discretion of the seller. Also no apology was offered. I didn't feel like spending $10 shipping to my home, and then another $10 shipping it back just to have wasted my time, so I just salvaged what I could and tossed out the obviously damaged discs (about 12 so far).

The discs themselves are fine, I've used Maxells for awhile and there are about %8 coasters, but that's about average for any brand.

3Bad ShippingSep 26, 2008
By James C. Dupre "Jimbo"
Maxell makes a great product. The 100 packs are a great value. What I'm unhappy with is the shipping. When I received my product, the box was crushed and the container holding the disc's was smashed. There was little packing material to protect the product and the box was not strong enough to support the product. This needs to be addressed for future purchases!

3Used To Be Good But....Mar 14, 2010
By Arnold R.
I've used the Maxell DVD+R discs a lot but this batch is acting strange, I have one drive that only likes +R discs & it wont play these at all (tries to read then times out). Other drives play the recorded media fine & they burn fine, the "finicky" drive still reads older Maxell +R's without error. I know around the inner ring of the DVD's the numbers are TOTALLY different then the old batch - wish I knew how to de-code them as maybe theres a clue as to whats different between my older +R's & the latest ones I bought. Curious....
