I bought this not on amazon but at wal-mart I thought it was working great until I unhooked it to move my computer room around and I plugged it back in and the wireless would not work I tried again and again to uninstall completely and reinstall and the wireless just would not work so every time I wanted to print something I had to plug in the cable to my laptop and sit there while it printed. I hated this stupid thing. It was also loud and sometimes would not print at all. I finally threw it in the trash.

1Needs ink ALL the time...can't refill cartridgeAug 28, 2010
Decent printer, but needs ink constantly. The cartridges cannot be refilled and replacements are expensive. Buy a Kodak or Canon instead.

5GREAT PRINTER FOR STUDENTS/HOME OFFICEAug 23, 2010
This printer is great for students or home/small home office purposes. I love the EASY WiFi set up. They did not lie when they said <10 Minutes for set-up. The software is useful and not bulky. I previously had an HP MF printer. The HP software was so bulky and slowed down my computer so much. Not a problem with the lexmark software. Printing quality is sufficient for student/home/office purposes. I wish the scanner had a feed tray, but it still is quick. It's kinda "big" for a printer in 2010; however, because it's wireless...you can really put it wherever you have the space. It doesn't have to be by the computer if it is wirelessly connected. I am running it on MS Windows XP and have had no problems. Those running it on vista may be having problems simply because vista is below-par software. The printer is great!! I had to contact lexmark customer service for help getting a new CD (lost original) and they were 110% helpful. You can download most of the software on their website; but I don't suggest relying on that. Don't lose the CD because the OCR software is not on the online version (it is proprietary from "ABBYY," software limited to the CDs distributed). My CD is on it's way and I am having fun playing with 85% of the features on this gem! WOULD RECOMMEND TO STUDENTS (like myself) or people with home offices.

4Good printer for the price ($50)Aug 18, 2010
I bought this to replace my old HP printer that was absolutely incompatible with my new computer (thanks HP for product support). Barring a few caveats, I'm very happy with the unit. I am not using the wireless function, so I can't contribute on that issue. For now, this review will only cover software install, printing from the computer, and the OCR software.

The installation went off without a hitch. Once the disk was in, it was very straight forward. I thought the detailed pictures & instructions for setting up the printer that played while the software was installing was a nice touch for those who may be unfamiliar or uncomfortable doing even this most basic "tech-y" stuff. I did notice some caution images on the USB cable that was supplied, implying not to hook the printer to the computer until the installation disk was run. I didn't pay too much attention as I was already through the software installation, but it may be important for the printer to run correctly to NOT allow Win to self install the drivers.

I printed the required test page (to align the printer heads) & a page of my own, both printing very nice & in a decent amount of time.

There is also an OCR software supplied (yay!) during installation (ABBYY Sprint 6.0). When you click on the shortcut, it finalizes the installation (so keep your disk in until you do this). I ran into a problem in that every time I clicked the shortcut, it would "install" and that's it. I fixed this by running it in Compatibility mode for WinXP SP2. To do this, open the folder containing "sprint.exe", right click, chose "Properties", then "Compatibility", then make your choices.

3Decent for a casual user, but the software is bugging and so is the connectivityJul 25, 2010
90% of the time I want this printer to work it does. But Everyonce in a while I must turn it and my entire computer to reset it and to get it to work again. Also, I trouble getting the wireless to work, which may have been me or maybe the product lacks a little in userability as I am a fairly competent computer user. On the other hand I paid $55 for this thing so I should and did not expect a lot. So decent for the price, only get if you are a causual user.
