5Excellent ToolDec 08, 2008
By SDGiant
Maybe the only true multi-tools with a corkscrew (Gerber had one that was discontinued). It was one of the only tools I was able to bring when I lived and traveled abroad for a year. It's been used to repair computers, fix furniture, hammer ice off a frozen fridge. Yeah, and open a lot of corks and bottles too :-)

Downsides to watch out for:
1. it is easy to pinch your hand using the pliers
2. the bottle opener "hyper-extends" on mine after years of abuse

If you don't need the corkscrew, and use the pliers a lot, I'd look at a bigger tool. If you're a traveler or camper, or urban adventurer, this is a great tool.

3Screwdrivers suckDec 07, 2008
By Syp
The screwdrivers on this thing are much too tight to take out with just your fingernails. I had to file it down to make it loose enough to use. All the other tools come out fine. The knife is nice and SHARP.

5There are choicesMay 11, 2009
By Carlgo
I had to replace my trusty Swiss Army knife, heavily gouged from a motorcycle accident and beloved for that reason. Then I go and leave it in an attic with two feet of blown-in insulation over it. Not smart.

You can hardly count the brands and varieties of multi-tools available these days. Just astounding, and searching for just the right one for your needs can be quite the project. I spent more time researching these than I did on buying any car.

The CS4, as it turned out, had the features and tools I wanted, specifically the screwdrivers, scissors, pliers and corkscrew (in case a supermodel would share her vintage wine with me in the woods if she only had a way to open it....). What the heck, I prefer the new screw tops.

The CS4's design lends itself well for fishing because of the scissors and pliers, and of course the blade and saw.

What strikes me is the quality of this tool. It is amazingly well-made with beautiful machined surfaces and seems to be made of quality steel. It, like most of these sorts of tools, is a work of industrial art, form and function. To me, a perfect product in every way I use it.

The knife blade is very sharp and has stayed that way, the pliers actually work and I have cut hard wire and misused them. I use the screwdrivers a lot and have had no issues. The Phillips actually works and the flat blades will do all the normal tasks just fine. The smallest of them works well on my glasses, a sign of crisp machining.

The scissors work perfectly and are also quite nice and sharp. The saw is very good and seems to be the same sort of pattern and sharpness of those awesome Bosch jigsaw blades. I actually cut a notch in a stud with it. It would work in hunting and gathering just fine.

Despite a few ocean and lake fishing trips and general industrial use, there is no corrosion and nothing has broken. Even the logos haven't worn off.

Everything is still nice and tight. There have been some complaints that the tools are hard to access or are too stiff. I don't have scraggly fingernails or anything and still have no problem opening the various tools. It is entirely possible that the riveting process might make some tools tighter than others, but mine is fine and I actually appreciate the lack of looseness.

I don't view this device as some sort of gentleman's tool, or a collector's item. It really is meant to be used and does a good job of it. Other designs are compelling and might be more useful for some people, but the CS4 is a five-star product for me.

As an aside, I came across all sorts of people who do have large collections of multi-tools. An interesting hobby and certainly more affordable than collecting Rolexes or something.

5Don't Leave Without Your Juice CS4Sep 13, 2007
By Squidz "I eat music"
All I can say is, I left my blue Leatherman Juice CS4 on the car bumper and it was gone. I immediately felt the impact. I had to replace it as quickly as possible. Luckily I had Amazon credit that allowed me to replace it for "free". It's great to have the CS4 back! I don't carry it 100% of the time, but it is usually in my laptop pack on biz days and either in my pocket or camera bag on weekend excursions.

Leatherman produces a quality product that is not only incredibly useful but also more durable than knockoff brands I've tried. Don't stray. Leatherman knows what it's doing.

5My boyfriend loved this item!Jan 22, 2007

The juice is the perfect pocket-sized multi-tool. It looks great and is clearly quality-made with great craftsmanship. I would highly recommend this item, even for the guy that seems to have every imaginable gadget.
