5Almost perfectAug 31, 2010
This is, for me, almost ideal for an Every Day Carry (EDC) multitool. I researched before I bought, and I sided with the Juice C2 over the Juice S2 and CS4. I'm a wine drinker, and so is my wife, and so are my friends. We're always traveling, and we're always finding ourselves in need of a corkscrew. I have a utility drawer full of cheap waiter's keys that have been purchased on the road. We've tried putting corkscrews in our suitcases, but inevitably something mucks up and we end up needing another one.

I lost my venerable Swiss army knife. It was a Victorinox Tinker, and I loved it. When searching for a replacement, I was immediately drawn to the assisted corkscrew on some of the Juice models. Let me be clear: The assisted corkscrew works just like a waiter's key. The can opener's lip provides a fulcrum point that helps the screw pull the cork. Swiss army knives have corkscrews, but they all require you to physically pull out the cork, which oven shreds it. The Leatherman Juice models don't shred corks, they pop them out. If you need a corkscrew on your EDC, you need a Leatherman. Period.

I would have liked scissors. Leatherman used to make a model called the SC2, which combined the S2 and C2. Now, if you want those things you've got to have a saw and an awl on the CS4. So, I chose the C2 and live without the scissors.

It's still a fantastic product. Good-sized combination pliers, chisel-tipped flathead screwdrivers, a powerful Phillips #1 that doesn't seem to strip or chip, a fantastic bottle opener, a good can opener (it WILL get the job done), and a main blade that's sharp enough to shave with, right out of the box. Best of all, the most commonly used tools (bottle opener, corkscrew, and knife) are accessible without opening the tool. All of this is in a sexy red package that literally disappears into jean pockets.

If you're a wine drinker, this is your EDC best friend. I'm using it all the time in places and situations I've never even considered. I'm snipping vines with the wire cutters and turning bolts with the pliers. I'm using the needle-nose tips as tweezers and the small flathead as a punch. This tool is worth every penny. Of course, the day Leatherman reintroduces the SC2, I'll buy it.

5Good stuffJun 25, 2010
Got this for my brother as a groomsmen present. Sounds like he really likes it. Not nearly as expensive as some of the other multitools.

5Light DutySep 25, 2009
Light duty at best? Or best at light duty? You decide.

Multi-tools are like knives, guns, flashlights, et cetera. There is a different tool for each job. And you need to have the right tool for the job.

While this small tool does not have all the goodies that are essential for repairs, it does have all the essentials for small repairs. Surprising what those small jobs could be. I was able to install a new deck into a late model car. It does have the basic screwdrivers. I've been able to back out fasteners of access panels and take apart computer towers (even though most now do not require hand tools at all). Great for the little fasteners on battery doors on toys and taking apart other small appliances.

Which job does this tool do for me? I always have it with me when I'm out with the ladies. Nothing ruins a romantic moment on the beach more than being the idiot who can't get the cork off the bottle of wine. Or even worse, breaking the cork into little pieces for you to choke on while sipping your wine. Sorry to say, but the Swiss Army knife corkscrew sucks at actually opening bottles of wine. The Leatherman Juice has a notched assist at the end of the can/bottle opener, just like a regular waiter's corkscrew.

A real man should keep one handy not just for the corkscrew. A real man will be able to take his lady out to the wine country & cut his lady's bread, cheese, fruit, and meat. A real man should always be able to open a bottle of beer. A real man should be able to crank open a tin can in a survival situation. A real man should be able to change a lady's tire on the side of the road.

Well, this tool doesn't jack up the car or break the torque on lug nuts. But in real life, I was able to use it to pull a nail out of the tread, before plugging it, and then use the knife to shave the plug down.

So you see, what started out as the frat boy's beer key, has for me, turned into quite the useful tool. I keep mine in the little map pocket in my car door. Always right there and handy for when I need to open a bottle of beer while I'm driving.

5If I had to own 1 Leatherman or Swiss Army Knive, this would be it!Sep 18, 2009
I own many Leatherman's and Swiss Army Knives and this C2 Juice is the one that I use the most. It has the most useful features and is still a relatively small size that I can slide into any bag that I am carrying. The Juice comes in the most handy when people are moving in or out of their place because there's always a need for a screwdriver or pliers. The feature I like the most is that I can beat the thing up and it still works great!

5Outstanding!Mar 12, 2009
Super! Big enough to get most jobs done, but small enough to disappear on your belt or in your purse... AND, Made In the USA by Americans! Avoid cheap knock-offs. This is a QUALITY tool.
