4Great game, one tiny glitchDec 10, 2006
By Busy Girl
This is a wonderful game for introducing the concept of fractions, then building on it. Colorful pieces, sturdy box, and of course, pizza is always appealing to the elementary school set! The only reason I did not give this item five stars is this: although the pizzas come neatly packaged and perforated, once you break them apart to use for play, it's nearly impossible to fit them back in the box right. My box lid always bulges open. I think a rubbermaid container will solve the problem. Otherwise I highly recommend this game!

5Excellent game for teaching fractionsAug 10, 2010
By Z Hayes
My five-and-half-year old daughter is learning how to play the piano and some of the concepts she's learning include quarter notes, half notes, etc. To help her with these concepts, my husband and I decided to teach her basic fractions, and we found this pizza fraction game at our local learning resource store. It is a fun concept and the games can be modified for either elementary level or middle grade level, and also depending on the child's aptitude.

There are 7 games here:
Pizza with everything (identifying and estimating fractions)
Pizza sandwiches (matching equivalent fractions less than or equal to 1)
Who gets the pizza? (problem solving with multiples of fractions)
One topping pizza (problem solving with equivalencies to make a whole)
Pizza tossing contest (practicing with equivalents)
Every way you slice it (manipulating equivalent fractions)
Pizza slice-up (adding and subtracting fractions)

The box contains:
13 pizzas cut into 64 full-color double-sided pizza pieces
3 doubles-sided spinners
An activity guide

I think this is an excellent game for teaching the different skills to do with learning fractions and can be easily improvised for each child's learning/grade level. The games can be also be complemented with real pizza:)Recommended!

4Good for learning fractionsMay 07, 2010
By Bopaticu
There are many ways to play this game. We went with the most simple directions for our third graders. They loved to play it, and they learned what the difference is in appearance between 1/6th and 1/9th. The realistic photographs made everyone hungry for pizza while playing it. Fun game, we recommend it.

5I'm so glad I bought this.Oct 08, 2010

My math-hating son loves this game! He actually asks to play, which I never imagined happening. We've only played once so far, but I'm very impressed with how sturdy the game pieces are.

5All Children Enjoy This!Aug 24, 2011
By Bruce Bain "Romans 9:33/Remember Jackie Robinson"
There is no end to the fun that you will have teaching fractions to small children, about 6 to 9 years old, with these Pizza Slices.

I find that children instinctively learn better with powerful visual aids like the Pizzas, which are cut into various fractions.

It's a breeze for example, showing how 1/2 a Pizza equals 3/6ths and so forth.

What is really fun, is to see what happens when afterward, you actually take children out for Pizza!
