5Great weather stationNov 06, 2006
By D. foley "weatherbug"
I purchased this item with a little sceptisism after reading a lot of reviews of other brand stations having issues with signal loss through walls to base station etc.I turned on the unit followed instructions. The wind gauge is about 30 feet up 20 feet from house the uv sensor is mounted 10 feet up as well as rain gauge. All sensors Detect and transmit flawlessly.I really like the product and I am impressed with the quality. All the outside sensors have o ring seals and have a tight fit to prevent moisture.I installed energizer lithium batteries for maximum temp range as specified in manual.Instruction manual states the outside sensors last apprx 2 years on one set of good batteries not bad.

3An OK weather stationJan 01, 2008
By Mark A. Carpenter "tbird481"
Pros
- wireless link provides ultimate convenience for installing the measurement devices
- robust set of measurements are provided
Cons
- Anemometer was installed 35' from a window where that base station is and repeatedly lost wireless synch; it's now 15' away and is working better
- wanted to post readings to a website automatically but the usb connection causes the wind readings to stop; have asked support to help several weeks back but received NO response
- This is NOT a Honeywell unit; it is a Japanese company who has licensed the Honeywell name -- so don't expect Honeywell quality and accuracy

5Excellent Weather Station HardwareJan 17, 2007
By C. Durnal
I bought this weather station after a great deal of research. I am particularly impressed by how substantial the components are. Also, I was concerned about clear reception from the remote sensors to the base station because I live in Germany. Germans build houses with very thick walls, but my base receives the sensor signals through these walls. It was esay to setup, but one must carefully follow the directions to set up all sensors before turning on the base station and use lithium batteries for strong signals.

A very very good buy.

4Good choiceFeb 19, 2007

I purchased this weather station for my father as a gift. Having never set one up before, he did run into a little difficulty with the monitor settings. The customer service center listed in the back of the manual offered excellent and immediate assistance. It only took a few minutes to work through the problem. He is really enjoying it. Both he and myself would recommend this model.

1Poor software, poor manual, inaccurate sensorsJul 29, 2007
By Joe B. Hungate
The "Weather Capture" software that came with the unit is version 1.2 nad has very limited capability written by an appearant novice software engineer. The Honeywell web site has a link to get the upgraded software (version 3.1) but clicking on this link gives error 404 (file not found). Very sad.... Also, the software screen shot shown on the TE923W box is totally different than what you get on the included CD (maybe they are showing version 3.1 which you can't get from their web site).

The manaul has been converted to English from some other language and was done very poorly. Quite often it is difficult to determine what the manual is instructing you to do.

The temperature sensors seem to be fairly accurate (compaired to other digital thermometers I have). The humidity sensors seems to be reading 10%-15% lower than what gets reported by local radio and TV stations just a few miles away. The local barometric pressure reading is always 1-2 inHg low. At high noon on a cloudless day in late July the UV sensore is reading "medium". Not sure how the actual UV exposure could get any higher but the sensor only indicates "medium" all day.

I've downloaded several software programs for use with weather stations and haven't been able to get any of them to work with the Honeywell TE923W. This does not seem to be a well supported unit.

When registering this product on-line or asking for techical support you complete an on-line form and it is then sent to the company as an email attachemnt. My Internet Service Provider (MSN) detects a virus with the email attachemnt and won't allow it to be sent.

I can not recommend this unit.
