5My husband likes itFeb 17, 2012

My husband has been looking at this knife for quite some time at Gander Mountain. He likes how light weight it is and the Gerber name. Amazon had it at a much lower price which made me happy. It turned out to be a win win situation.

2Not one of the better knives out thereDec 11, 2011

Picked this up from Fry's, but regardless of the source it's still the same knife.

Not impressed at all with this knife. I was looking for a small pocket folder to use as a general utility knife and self defense, but this won't work well for either application.

Biggest problem is opening the knife. The thumb studs could be better placed. After playing with it for an hour on the way home, I found that my hand had to be in one particular position, or else it wouldn't open. I have another knife roughly the same size that will open no matter how you push the thumb screw. The rear lever can be used, but you have to be careful not to hit your hand with the blade tip.

The second problem is the knife's sharpness. I used a little folder I have to open the blister pack and it sliced right through it. I then used this knife to open a second blister back, and it wouldn't cut into the plastic. I had to saw my way through it. I tackled the pack with the first knife to see if the plastic was tougher, but it sliced through it with ease. The knife simply isn't sharp.

Lastly, the belt clip is so tight as to be unusable. Another reviewer mentioned prying it apart with a screwdriver to open it up, and I'll have to give that a try.

More of a minor point, but I would have liked a rough surface on the handle to better one's grip when opening it.

Greatly recommend finding a store with a selection of knives that you can handle before purchase. I wouldn't have bought this one if I had been able to do that.

4Nice little knife but perhaps too littleOct 03, 2011

Nice build and great quality overall but it may be too small for some hands. I have problems trying to open it with one hand cause I can barely hold it in position to do it.

5Great Little KnifeAug 04, 2011

This is a great knife... it's pretty small (small enough that you can cover your entire hand with it), but that doesnt mean its useless! I use it for everything and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I'm going to buy its older brother the EVO for more heavy duty usage and carry the two around as a pair. Great knife I totally recommend!

i kept this knife clipped to my flak jacket in the field. it is a great little knife for opening mre's or doing this and that. it is a very small knife. i ended up getting the larger version for my pocket and now this knife is in the ol' lady's purse. its a good purse knife.
