1There Are Better AlternativesMay 06, 2007
By William Stewart
I thought this was going to be a great addition to my PC. Man was I wrong. It was a waste of money. The instructions were not clear. The installation did not go smoothly, and I ended up having to call technical support twice. Only after finally getting this installed did I realize it isn't interactive. What a disappointment. The way this works, if you suspect you've misspelled a word, you can go to the dictionary and look it up. That's old school. I am mostly a Macintosh user, and I was expecting something as easy to install as Spell Catcher from Rainmaker Research [...] Disappointed, I found that Rainmaker also has a Spell Catcher for the PC. It was an easy choice to make that purchase. The USB Merriam-Webster Disctionary/Thesaurus now makes a nice do-dad for a key chain. Maybe I can find someone who'll purchase it. Do yourself a favor... pass this one up... there are better alternatives.

I purchased this for my wife who is an Editor, thinking it would be usefull to her. Upon recieipt I promptly plugged it into her computer, and was then asked for the key to unlock the program. This had not been provided in the package, could not be found on-line and was not forthcoming from anywhere.
To sum up, without the key this was a complete waste of my time and money.
Can't review it because I never saw it work.

This is a joke. It worked about 3 times and then after than the computer says that it can not find it when I really do have it plugged in. We have installed and reinstalled and uninstalled and finally threw it in the trash

1Useless: Nice Idea Very Poorly ExecutedDec 27, 2009
By 1Sunbum
Bought as a Christmas stocking stuffer for a friend. Tried it on 2 computers running Vista, 1 running XP. Simply put: It didn't work. The "Autorun" set up refused to run (yes, the computers we tried it on all had the autorun feature properly configured). Managed to get the logon window to launch, but with no username/password info anywhere in or on the package, that didn't help. My friend and I each spent over an hour trying to get it to run with no success, and we're both experienced users. There was nothing on the Franklin site about it, either. Had Franklin products before and been satisfied; surprised they'd put their name on junk like this.

5Spell BoundNov 24, 2008
By J. Robinson "A Hopeless Romantic"
A truly pocket dictionary! I was looking for a pocket dictionary to use at work. Bingo! For about the same price as the book would cost. I now have dictionary and a Thesaurus on a keychain. There also so room for data if you need to take your document with you or add your favorite pics.
So far I only use it for the spell check. It does come in handy. Scrabble? Anyone?
