5I love it!!Sep 22, 2008
By Tonex
I received this item a few days ago and I have laminated 60 pages of a book already without any problem. When I received it though, the cleaning sheet and the warranty card were missing. I called fellowes and they told me that I could use one side of a manila folder for the cleaning sheet, and it works fine. Amazon was very good about it as usual because they were willing to replace it. It's just that I needed it like yesterday for my school project and could not return it for a replacement. I still don't have a warranty card but it works perfectly right now, so I am hoping that it will last a loooooooog time. I would say if you need a laminator that works well and have a decent price go for this. It worked right out of the box and I didn't have to adjust anything. I am very excited about my purchase.

Update: Today is November 20th and since I purchased this machine I have been running it hot. My daughter and I are in college and we use it a lot. It works like a charm, there is no doubt that it is well made just looking back at how much we have used it. In comparison to the one I have at work; I never had to pass a document through twice before it is laminated properly. Just once with this machine and it is perfectly sealed. This machine is also faster and more beautiful that the one at work. I have used 3 - 7 mil pouches with this machine and it runs just fine. I did not buy the Fellowes pouches, I just purchased some other cheaper kinds and the machine still did a fantastic job with them. We have tested it with 3 different brands of pouches. 7/6/2011 update -Still 5-Stars, great performance as always.

5Sturdy, Simple to Use.Feb 18, 2009
By Mike C. "Visage"
Built a little sturdier than some of the sub $100 laminators I've viewed at office supply stores. Nice wide capacity for full 8 1/2 x 11 page laminations. Consistent results over the first 30 I've completed. Cover doesn't seem to get excessively hot. Very happy with this laminator for the price and my occasional but sometimes numerous lamination needs.

2Better choices availableOct 19, 2010
By Scott "Scott"
Nice design aesthetically, and the built-in handle is nice. But it only has two heat settings, one for 3mil and one for 5mil pouches. I set it for 5mil and waited for it to signal it was ready, then ran through several Fellowes brand 5mil pouches (1 sheet of 20lb bond in pouch). They all came out wavy and distorted, a symptom that points to the heat being too high.

I reset it to the 3mil setting and waited for it to cool down and beep its ready signal. I again tried a 5mil pouch (at the 3mil setting). Much better, almost acceptable but still some waves. Tried a 3mil pouch and it came out very wavy -- I would call it rippled. No way to reduce heat any further since the machine only has two settings. Apparently this machine just runs hot!

Other issues... There were minor scratches on the front panel (this panel is completely protected during shipping, so it had to come out of the factory that way). Also, every few minutes the normal "humming" sound would change to a loud "buzzing" noise for several seconds (another reviewer complained of this too, so it isn't just this one).

I returned the SL95 to Amazon and purchased a GBC H212 instead. The H212 has variable heat control and auto-shutoff as well. Worked perfectly with the Fellowes pouches -- none of the problems I had with the SL95.

5Excellent laminator, probably beyond just projects and home use!Sep 12, 2009
By Corey H. Perez
I'm in flight school and we laminate EVERYTHING. This laminator has been used, abused and taken for granted. I have used well over 100 sheets (3mm) and currently working on 3mm and 5mm with no issues. I would not hesitate to recommend using this to anybody.

5Perfect for low volume!Sep 24, 2009
By JA
I do low-volume convention sales, and use this machine to laminate my product. It works fantastically! I have had excellent results with 3 mil and 5 mil pouches, and I've never seen lamination this tight from a home laminator. No trouble with pockets of air around the edges of the contained paper at all, which means I can trim extremely close for the best look. It goes slowly, so if you need high volume look into a professional machine. But if you need a reliable, high quality home machine, look no further. Excellent, excellent value for the price!
