3Decent Starter KitAug 05, 2010
By Stephanie
I bought this to accompany a portable white board I had purchased.
The markers all work well as expected, and the spray is nice when the board is extra dirty.
The eraser works alright, but it can get pretty beat up after a bit of use.
I would suggest getting another eraser because the one that comes in this kit is pretty basic, it's made out of styrofoam like material and feels a bit flimsy.

5Good starter setSep 21, 2009

The whiteboards in the room I was assigned to this year are rather of old, misused (posters and flyers were taped on them), and marker absorbs into them very easily. I could not get them clean unless I used Expo spray cleaner, a lot of it, and rubbed for a long time with a soft paper towel. I used Quartet to recondition my boards, but the ink still sank in, smeared, and ghosted horribly.

Then I switched markers from Marks-a-lot to Expo markers, and FINALLY my boards erase clean! This ink does not sink in and stain the surface. The eraser works well (better than my old one), and the cleaner is good to have around as well. I'm so glad I no longer have to spray cleaner and waste paper towels on my board everyday.

If you can't get your boards clean, it could be your markers. I'll only use Expo now.

1Try The Low Odor Version First !!Feb 13, 2012
By Matthew Smith
Simple product, right? I assumed a dry-erase marker would be judged by two criteria: does it write well on my dry-erase board and is it easily erased? Not so fast my friend (er, . . . myself). While these markers meet the aforementioned criteria, the amount of odor they produce is totally disqualifying.

I have a 3M 24"x36" dry erase board in my office on which I write simple reminders about what I want to do each week and each day. With these markers, I can write about 15 words before the volume of the smell permeates my office and the hall outside.

Fortunately, Expo's "Low Odor" markers seem to work just as well as the regular version. Do yourself a favor and start with those.

3OK set, however the eraser sucksApr 16, 2011

This is a decent starter set of dry erase markers but the eraser it comes with is just absolute garbage. It's made of styrofoam, has no weight to it, and feels like its going to blow out of your hand any second. I guess using plastic was cutting too much into their profit margins. When you consider how cheap the eraser is, you're basically paying 8 bucks for 4 markers and a small bottle of cleaning spray.

4Overall it's great except for the Eraser.Mar 07, 2012

The spray is great for getting off all the old marker markings on a white board. Once the bottle runs out which can be pretty quick, I usually just pour in 90% rubbing alcohol which works great. The markers work as they are supposed to they write well I use them once a week to write on a board for game releases so they last a nice amount of time for me but for others I think if your writing a lot everyday there is a good possibility for them to run out in a quick/ reasonable amount of time. Only complaint is the board eraser it just absorbs the old markings and can spread those markings later in time. Even though it is meant to be basic it feels extremely cheap. I just use a paper towel to clean up my white board. Bought this for 9 bucks, if you already have the bottle I suggest getting the markers separately keeping the bottle and using a paper towel for erasing the board.
