5well worth the expenseAug 23, 2010

I recently picked up an Epson 3880 and have been experimenting with various Epson media. This paper is stiff enough to handle easily, give you something solid to mat, yet still multi-feed into the printer. The surface is brighter white than most of the watercolor paper I use for my ink drawings, and it creates a very nice print as a result. I don't do photo work, so I cannot comment on that, but stepping up to the ultra premium was definitely worth the price difference for fine art reproductions. There is one small problem with all of the Epson papers I've received so far. The top left corner of every stack of paper has been very slightly crunched inside the box, and the boxes have been undamaged. Apparently, something in the loading or handling process at the factory causes the problem. I notified Epson, but never heard anything back. Since I am matting my prints, which covers this very small defect, it has not deterred me from using their papers, but if you're doing a flush mount without any edge coverage, it may cause you a problem.

5Great paper lousy service...Jun 10, 2007
By Ric Kasnoff
Can you imagine a company that would grab a box of fine art paper and just slap a label on it and send it out unprotected?

well that's what Amazons partner "ReStockit" did and then refused to even answer email inquiries about the dented corner on all 50 sheets

Get the paper if you have an Epson printer...works even better when you use a protective spray on it...Lysons print guard doesn' change the surface texture and protects against UV and moisture

5Set the platen gap to wideFeb 09, 2012
By Omega Man "Technoanalyst"
Great paper, significantly better than the "non-ultra" version if you ask me. The only things you might want to do with any large paper like this:

1) Don't tighten the sheet feed guides too close to the paper (like I did once). I'd leave 1/8th of an inch between the left side feeder guide and the edge of the paper. If the paper gets bent inward because the width between the guides is too narrow (easier to happen with large paper), it can cause it to misfeed in such a way that the print head can scrape the paper, potentially causing costly print head damage.

2) In addition to setting the paper type (in the print settings) to this exact brand/type of paper, you may want to set "platen gap" to "wide" just to be sure. You shouldn't really need the "wide" setting if you set the paper type properly (as the printer/driver should set the proper gap for the paper you set) but it might not be a bad idea anyway just to be safe.

And to avoid waste, it's never a bad idea to do a nozzle check on the blank side of some clean and unwrinkled scrap office paper (if not new office paper) before you print on anything large or otherwise expensive.

This paper is excellent for when I "just have to print" my artwork when not preparing for an exhibit. Excellent quality at a great price for everyday artwork.

5Great Paper for Art printingMay 19, 2012
By Max
This paper is great for printing digital art work on, which is the use I had for it. Great color acceptance and saturation. Overall good product.
