The Epson K3 Inks may be expensive, but the T580400 cartridge packs lots of ink and goes a long way. As for prints with K3 pigment inks, they are just stunning and rated to last many many years. I am only limited by my own work.

PROS:
- Genuine Epson K3 pigment inks.
- Decent Expiration date

CONS:
- None

TIPS:
- If you don't print "often", you might consider running a Manual nozzle check at least weekly to keep the ink flowing. The frequency may vary based on the humidity of the room, age of your inks, etc., but you want to avoid clogged nozzles!!! A friend of mine spent $700 to have his print heads replaced due to clogs. Ouch!
- If the nozzle check shows a few breaks in the print pattern, wait 15 minutes and run another Manual nozzle check. If your printer is slightly clogged, this may resolve the problem. Hope this helps!

I have been using the Epson 3880 printer for the last 18 months and have discovered that Amazon has the best pricing and availability for all the inks that this printer uses. It is my impression that I get the freshes ink catridges from Amazon version other suppliers. As far as the quaulity of this product it is superior to any other product on the market place. The competition is much better than in the past, but Epson is still the "Gold Standard" in printers, ink and paper for digital photographers that want to provide their customers with the best images in hard copy.

I am still waiting for the original Y cartridge to run out of ink. The VLM was first to go, followed by the LLK and LC. LK is down to 2%, but still printing.

The great thing about the Epson 3880 is its ability to keep printing until the cartridge is actually empty, even in the middle of a page. The printer just stops and lets you know which ink to replace. You install the replacement cartridge and the printer then resumes where it left off and completed the print job. No muss, no fuss. Use every micro-liter of ink with no waste.

The 3880 is a great printer and these ink carts are part of the story. Lesser printers use smaller ink cartridges, so the cost per ML is astronomical. These are a bit smaller than the "pro" Epson printers' carts, but the cost per ML is similar.
Another nice feature of these carts and the printer is that you can pretty much run these dry before changing, unlike less intelligent printer/cartridge combinations that force you to replace the carts before they're really empty.
