4Good news and bad newsMar 12, 2007
By R. Horick "Kholstomer"
The color ink in these cartridges seems excellent to me, a non-specialist in colored ink. The good news is that you only replace just the ink color that runs out in your Epson printer, avoiding the need to throw away unused ink in single cartridges that hold 3 colors, and maybe even black, too. It is also very easy to replace cartridges.

The bad news is that, in Epson (and other) printers, you can't print even just black text if any one of these colors runs out. So you are forced to keep supplies of all four colors installed in your Epson printer at all times if you want to use it at all, even if you have no prospect of printing in color in the near future.

These little cartridges are expensive, and it is obvious that Epson is making its profits on ink cartridges and not on the cheap printers most people use. The whole system is inherently unfriendly to the environment, as there is such a lot of waste in disposing of these complex little electronic cartridges once the ink is gone from them.

The obvious thing to do would be for Epson to sell just replacement ink to pour in to recepticles for each color when they are empty or nearly so. Some environmentally friendly way of keeping the ink channels unclogged would be needed then, but hey, they'd still make a lot of money selling ink and ink channel cleaner. Is this rocket science?

4Individual color cartridges in a 3-packMay 07, 2007
By Robert Younger
These cartridges work well, like most ink cartridges. The important part for me is that they are for each color individually, so I only have to replace the color that is actually out. Please also note that the interactive software that comes with your printer will tell you to replace the cartridge long before you need to. Wait until the printer won't print anymore, then replace the cartridge. You'll get many more prints from each cartridge this way.

5Generic Ink Sucks!Dec 13, 2007
By Kiki Von Pants
I have used Epson printers exclusively since college days - as a photographer and graphic designer I need colors that print true, or are easy to color balance if things aren't looking the way they should, and Epson has always come through for me with their products and software. I find I need to replace my printer about every 2 years or so- depending on how much use it sees, and I'm okay with that, because I work the heck out of these poor things (some until their little feet vibrate right off!) and they almost literally drip ink out the bottom. I tried Generic Ink for the first time a month ago and it was just as bad as I thought it would be. the print quality was a little blurry, the colors not as true, and the print heads were really undependable. I had to throw 2 out of 6 away almost full because numerous print head cleanings and alignments were unsatisfactory. In summation, I am happy to pay full price for the proper cartridge, but I agree with another reviewer - please consider a refillable option for the sake of the environment! I'll pay whatever it takes to make this profitable to Epson. (maybe I shouldn't say that in print) but I mean it. HIGH QUALITY REFILLABLE OPTION PLEASE!

5perfect quality ink cartridges...Nov 09, 2007
By Jorge Anturi "JORGE ANTURI"
if you want an excellent printing quality, use only original epson ink cartridges....

there are compatible cartridges.. but they reduce the quality of your printing...
