Just as you normally get bitten not by a moose or polar bear, but by mosquitoes, flies and ants, it's often the little things that eat you up financially. Those unclaimed mileage expenses really add up at the end of the year.

I found the trick is to have a system that's easy to use and requires little thought while using it, quite frankly. That's where the basic mileage log book comes in. More comprehensive expense-reporting books and systems risk not getting used - money that will never be properly expensed.

This log report does that in the simplest and most logical manner. When you open the book to a random page, you'll see a week. The left page shows where you record the date, odometer readings, and miles traveled including a weekly total at bottom. The right page is where you write down the business purpose. Easy.

This log book is small, but not too small for writing. It takes very little room in the glove compartment, for example.

In case you want to know the IRS 2010 Standard Mileage Rates:

50 cents per mile for business miles driven
16.5 cents per mile driven for medical or moving purposes
14 cents per mile driven in service of charitable organizations

I was glad to be able to purchase this item from Amazon.com as my local office supply stores no longer carry it. The Dome(R) Auto Mileage Log and Expense Record has the perfect format that I need to keep up with my mileage. The two-page weekly layout in a pocket-size format allows me ample room to write the date, beginning and ending mileage on one side and on the opposite page, it allows me space to write down exactly where I traveled in detail. Writing lines are spaced spaciously tall enough to easily pen the information between the lines. Thanks for selling an item I use every day.

It is a nice book with good quality, but I was disappointed in it since it doesn't have a place to keep track of gasoline mileage. I had purchased my last book at a local automotive store, but they no longer carry them. I had thought since it listed that it has a mileage log and expense record, that it would cover that. It is more for a business person who needs to keep track of their mileage and expenses. I will probably try to make it work even though it isn't what I had originally wanted.

We've used these to keep track of total mileage, business mileage, and expenses for years. Very comprehensive. Enough pages to last the entire year on a daily basis with monthly summary pages. It's one of the best I've seen for this purpose at a reasonable price.

Have used this logbook for over 10 years. It is very simple to use plus the IRS requires that you have proof of your travels if you are reimbursed for mileage. I would highly recommend this product.
