One of those rare cases, where a camera I ordered, included a small insert page that suggested accessory items designed for the product you just purchased. I have AC external power supply for every digital camera I own (embarrassed to say how many over the years). I immediately ordered it from B&H Camera (a lifelong and trusted supplier of many items to me). Then in inspecting my new camera, I couldn't find a place to plug-in an external power supply. I wrote the camera company (OLYMPUS). Shortly, I got e-mail that clearly stated that there was NO external AC unit for my particular camera (Why was it listed as an accessory?) Oh well, it was already on the way to me from B&H. At arrival, I sent it back and as always, my return was handled quickly. No problem EVER with B&H OR Amazon

This is not a charger, so having batteries in the camera... (or other device).... while you use it doesn't contribute to any damage.

Once I installed the correct plug, I could use the camera without having to find batteries.

NOTE:
Also was able to successfully use this device with my Sony ICF-SW7600GR AM/FM Shortwave World Band Receiver with Single Side Band Reception.
