5Great CardAug 04, 2007
By Derek Ashton Beasley "BEASE"
Ok, the other reviews of this product weren't that helpfull for me previous to my purchase of this product so i thought i'd throw in my two cents. I'm using this card to replace my old Linksys card which wasn't giving a whole lot of range or power and replacing my old liksys router. I'm now using the DIR-655 in conjunction with this card and i'm getting exceptional range! 300mbps at the fence of my property about 150 linear feet away through multiple walls. The card itself is able to detect networks from a lot farther range than my previous card. I'm very pleased with my purchase. Hope this helps others out. Good Luck.

1WARNING: Does not work with Windows XP SP3!Dec 14, 2008
By Django
I called D-Link support about installation problems with this product. They ran me through basic re-installation for half an hour and then told me "This card's drivers don't work with Windows XP Service Pack 3." They said I should roll back Windows to Service Pack 2. No, I'm not kidding. Thanks, D-Link, for wasting my time and money with your misrepresented product.

D-Link sells this card as XP compatible and yet they admit it doesn't work with the current, Windows-approved version of XP. This is pretty close to outright fraud. If it doesn't work with the XP service pack that 95% of users are operating with, then they can't honestly say it works with XP.

This speaks very poorly for D-Link's honesty and integrity.

5Stronger Wireless ReceptionJun 26, 2007
By Thomas A. Belleman "LowCarb Man"
This card has proven to be much stronger and faster than my previous cards. I would recommend it to anyone looking to increase the speed, as long as they have the wireless hub to push out the signal.

5Works Great - 300 Mbps WiFi Connections.Aug 17, 2007
By Dave E.
I use this in conjunction with my DSL service and couldn't be more satisfied. For home use, I have a 24" iMac which I have connected to an Apple AirPort Extreme base station via built-in ethernet (i.e - hard wired). For work, I have a Toshiba laptop, TWO STORIES UP, and connect via WiFi to the AirPort base station. The laptop is running Windows XP SP2. I use a D-Link DWA-652 notebook adapter and CONSISTENTLY connect at 300.0 Mbps! Both the AirPort base station and the D-Link adapter are built on the 802.11n draft, and work great together. ONE BIG BUT (so to speak)...the 802.11n draft does NOT support WEP encryption. You can still connect with WEP enabled, but it will be at 802.11g-like speeds (i.e. - 56Mbps). Not using WEP has its obvious disadvantages, but the WiFi connection speed of 300.0 Mbps is outstanding.

5Excellent speed for wireless. Works flawlessly with amazing range!May 31, 2008
By S. Lee "S L"
I got this wireless cardbus adapter to use with my old (Media Center) laptop and was happily surprised that it consistently provides a 300 Mbps signal at a significant distance from the base unit, much farther than anything I previously have used and I have been using wireless routers since they first came out. I have never been happier with any wireless router and card as the D-Link Xtreme N Wireless as neither the router or adapter have failed me once and have provided astounding speeds. I purchased the Xtreme N router, cardbus adapter, and PC card when this first came out. D-Link has upgraded all drivers so now the cards work with all versions of Windows, not that I have had any problems of that sort. This is an excellent card that provides some of the fastest speed available and is well worth the cost. This has never slowed (any of) my computers as some other reviewers have claimed so they may have some other underlying related problem. If you are in the market for a speedy router and card I highly recommend this unit. It is flash upgradeable once the N standard is finally set in 2009 so you won't have to buy another unit when the N standard is finalized.
