1Buy and older CB radio instead!Aug 31, 2010
This unit and many others made in the last couple of years are totally lacking in quality. I know there has been a resurgence in the use of CB radio in some areas, but to market something with an unusable signal strength indicator, poor sound quality and terrible components makes Cobra look bad overall. This radio is an entry level unit, but still lacks even basic usefulness. I could barely hear anyone, even with squelch properly adjusted. I used an older Cobra unit from several years back, (one that is all in the handset and still in production), and this one is deaf. The microphone connector is well made though. The microphone is huge, the radio itself will pick up all Rf noise from your vehicle, and the controls for volume and squelch are very hard to actually adjust so you can hear anything. I made sure to try several of these and eventually just returned them all. I only bought this since I have an all in one Cobra CB that I bought 5-7 years ago that has worked great. This model I am rating and any other in the series is not recommended. (They will be Cobra 19 and then roman numerals for models numbers.)

****Get the Cobra 75WXST instead. Great CB radio there.****

4A trip from the pastAug 07, 2010
Our family has been driving to Canada for a family fishing trip for 40 years. Since we often caravan several cars, we like to stay in contact with each other. In the "old" days we used CB's. More recently we rely on cell phones or texting. It was fun to relive the "old days" with our new Cobra CB. It worked fine and we enjoyed hearing a few truckers on the way too. It was a good buy from Amazon.

3okay CBJul 27, 2010
Still haven't figured out the squelch on this little thing. Two buttons that are together unlike any CB I have owned.

3Good small radioJun 01, 2010
I got this radio because I wanted a small cheap cb. I pared this with a cobra HG1500 antenna and cobra HG M75. The SWR are 1 from ch1 to ch40. After tunning the radio and mic it will cover 5 miles in the city so not bad, reports come back clean. The stock mic is "staticy". For a small $40 cb if u spend the time to do some work to it you wont be dissapointed but dont expect to get out 20 miles on it.

2Cobra 19 DX IV stinks !!Mar 28, 2010
This is probably the worst radio that Cobra has ever put their name on, I dought if it is infact a real Cobra, the reception is lousy. if your not close then it won't get out. you turn the radio off then back on it goes to channel 01, you have to re adjust your channel everytime you turn it on, I paid 37.00 plus tax and feel that I got screwed. I'm considering taking it to a pawn shop and hopefully they will give me at least part of what I paid for it. I hate it !!! if I had it to do over would I have purchased it ?? HELL NO !!!!!!! IT'S JUNK !!!!!!
