5Inexpensive alternative to the Apple USB Wall chargerMay 30, 2005
By Gerard
I bought the Zip-Linq AC Wall Plug usb adapter as an inexpensive alternative to the official Apple charger. It charges my iPod 6GB mini without any problems and it doesn't put a dent in your wallet. This charger can also be used to charge other devices such as a cell phone if you have a usb cable for that.

Edit 1/12/2006:

I have upgraded to a Black 4GB iPod Nano and it does charge it without any problems.

Edit 7/29/2006:

It charges my Samsung A920 cellphone along with the Samsung charging usb cable plugged into the zip-linq ac adapter.

Edit 9/29/2008:

This won't charge either my 4th Gen iPod Nano or my Samsung Smartphone. I guess it won't work with some of the newer generation electronics.

1Does not work with Creative Labs Zen Micro PhotoJul 26, 2006
By C. Grindland
Do not waste your money, this was under recommendations, but I would NOT recommend this with your Creative Zen.

My daughter purchased this after saving up for an MP3 player, this just does not seem to give enough power, we plug it in and 12 hours later it is still charging. Plug the MP3 into the computer USB and it is done in less than 2 hours.

It may work fine for some other things but not the Creative Zen. It would cost more to return and they will only exchange it, so guess we are just eating the cost and S & H. I should have read the reviews before; would have seen that you get what you pay for, don't waste your money.

1Does NOT work with my Creative ZENNov 03, 2006
By JRB
Does NOT work with my Creative ZEN. Can leave plugged in overnight and it does NOT charge at all. Later I founf another charger I purchased did not work with the ZEN either, but the replacement charger DID work with a Sansa MP3 player. Maybe it's just the Creative product that cuses the problem?

3Does not work with 5G iPod (with Video)Nov 11, 2005
By Les Ferch
I bought three of these after readng that they work with the iPod and provide 5V 1A output like the $30 Apple adapter. Consistent with Amazon and the Zip-Linq site, the package stated 450mA output. However, as reported elsewhere, the unit itself is slightly redesigned from what is pictured and states 5V 1A output on the adapter. So far so good. When I plugged it in, the LED on the unit lit up. I then plugged in my 5G iPod with video using the Apple USB to Dock cable. No joy. The ipod recognized it was plugged in (it came out of sleep), but the charging indicator never appeared. In fact, the battery charge indicator went down while it was plugged in. I tested a second Zip-Linq adapter to be sure and it behaved the same. So, this adapter may work to charge an iPod Shuffle or Mini, as stated in the other reviews, but it will not charge a 5G iPod. Note: The Zip-Linq site lists a white USB AC Adapter for iPod coming some time in November. Let's hope that one works with a 5G iPod.

5Great Alternative over having to plug into the computerNov 03, 2006
By S. Cameron "CAMEX Aeolian Wind Harps"
This was purchased as part of my sons birthday present for use with his Sandisk MP3 player. Does exactly as it was hoped to do. Plug the MP3 in for charging from any outlet as the MP3 was designed to be charged thru the USB port on the computer. Added alot more flexibility, convenience and ease of use. Good product. Good price. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone that has an MP3 that needed to be plugged to a computer to charge.
