This cable is excellent quality and provides crisp clear sound for digital surround sound through my 5.1 system. An optical digital cable is a necessity to enjoy DTS surround sound and this cable does its job well! Also Cables To Go products such as this are much less expensive than similar brands purchased from retail stores. Highly recommended!

I did a LOT of research and decided against extremely high priced cables. I felt that this cable offered a quality far above the CHEAPEST optical cables which did not have polished ends, and just a little below the high priced cables that offer perhaps a better interior polish on the optic fibers. Also, the connection points click firmly with my A/V devices - which is probably the most important part as it IS the weakest link and area most susceptible to audio degradation.

If you have bought or are buying a new Sony Bravia product, it says in the instructions that the TV MUST be connected to the amplifier by an optical cable in addition to the HDMI cable to get the TV audio to the amplifier. This one was the perfect length to go from my wall-mounted Sony KDL-52XBR9 to my amplifier (Sony STR-DN1000). It is thin and pliable and the connections 'click' in solidly.

I bought these to replace some Amazonbasics Optical Cables that I previously purchased and sent back because they wouldnt click into the Optical Ports on my PC or AV receiver. These cables stay on a little bit firmer then the Amazonbasics Optical Cables but they dont "click" into place and stay there securely either, they are very easily removed by brushing up against them as you walk by or moving stuff around.

Its very hard to find good Optical Cables, I decided to just get a Digital Coaxial Cable instead to do the job that I was planning to use Optical Cables for, the quality of the digital Coaxial Cables is pretty evenly matched and they stay on better then Optical Cables.
