5Heavy, Sturdy, and True to ColorNov 28, 2010

This is a real nice bookcase and great value for the price! It is very sturdy and great for someone who doesn't have alot of space and/or needs a good amount of shelf height. The shelf height is very roomy as I can fit binders on every shelf. Each piece of the bookshelf is quite heavy (lending to the quality), but it was very easy to assemble. I even received a compliment on how nice it is in both quality and appearance!

Had a problem with the bookcase. Cymax responded in less than one hour from the time I registered my complaint. I must say that this response was excellent along with the resolution to the issue I had with the item. I am very satisfied with the transaction overall. I would give Cymax a five star ration for their overall business practices.

I have bought mostly Sauder furniture. I believe the quality of this furniture to be better. My husband usually puts together the furniture (desks, loftbeds, cabinents, etc.) I have occasionally taken on easier items, like this bookshelf. The furniture color itself was very nice. There was a couple of little nicks but nothing really noticible once it was put together. It was so easy to put together by myself. When I was attaching the second long side I used a box and a pillow to prop it up until I was able to secure it in the proper place. All I needed was a Phillips screwdriver for the main pieces and a hammer for the back piece. Instructions are easy to follow and the assembly is not complicated at all. The thing I liked most was how thick the shelves are. Very sturdy and since the bookshelf itself is narrow, you can easily put thicker books on the shelf. I wish I needed another one because it looks that good and is very functional.

The cherry finish matched the existing desk in the office. The height and width are perfect and fit neatly in a corner space in my office. The construction is solid, not spectacular, but definitely serves its purpose.

This is a SOLID piece of furniture -- the delivery man was struggling, as it was an 89 lb. package. The unit looks great after assembly and I think will serve us well.

The only real issue we had (and I think another reviewer has reported the same thing) is that the holes on the bottom piece were not placed correctly; luckily, though, I was able to drill replacement holes in the correct positions and use those. From the directions I surmise they sell several variations using the same pieces, and I imagine we got a bottom piece drilled for another version. A much more trivial issue is that one small plastic cap (a cover for the pieces that support the shelves) was missing, though they did give us two extra nails and an extra plastic hole cover. From what I can tell, the lack of the plastic cover doesn't affect the stability of the shelf.
