If you print double-sided, and who doesn't these days to save paper, then this drum is not for you. Like the other reviewers say, you will get a jam for almost every single page you print. It's garbage! If you print single-sided, it appears to work just fine. I've only printed a few pages while trying to debug all these jams. There's a good chance it won't hold up under heavy use as the heat wears down the cheap components.

It's not a secret for anybody that OEM drums, toners or any other parts for your printer are ridiculously expansive. Sometimes it's cheaper to buy a new printer than replace, lets say, drum and toner. Compatible parts, in most cases, can save your printer from being thrown to a trash. For example, in my office I have two color and one black & white laser printers in perfectly working condition, that were replaced by new ones just because of the cost of the replacement parts. Now about this compatible DR-520 drum. It saved my printer, and it works as well as the original drum, at the cost that makes sense! I am glad I have purchased this drum.

I bought this Drum Unit in mid July and have barely used it and I am already getting the tell tell sreaks appearing in my print outs. This is a very cheap knock off and is not worth the money. My last Brother Drum Unit lasted for over a year, and this one has only made it 6 weeks.

I just installed the drum unit and it's working fine.

Unless a catastrophe occurs in the immediate future with this part, I simply can't justify buying this new, when the cost of a replacement is multiples of the refurb.
