I have used this product for several years for my personal journal. The binding is so secure that I can open it and write in it for 500 days in succession and it stands up beautifully. I especially like the numbered pages, and a place for an index in the front. Perfect for the serious journal writer.

I write in a journal/record book every weekday, so I needed a book with around 300 pages since some days may go over 1 page. A few started with a Black n' Red book a few years ago. Since I often carry the book around in my backpack, the corners take a little bit of a beating. This treatment didn't do great things to either the cover or the binding of the Black n' Red.

Despite the additional cost of the Boorum & Pease, I decided to try it based on some positive reviews. The binding is very solid. The corners have a slight rounding with reinforcement which makes them quite sturdy. Since I want to continue to refer to this book for many years, I found it worth the cost.

Highly recommended!
