2Works great, but scroll wheel on mouse won't work.Jun 04, 2006
By Sephethus "Nathan"
If you like using the scroll wheel, forget it, I'm taking mine back for one that supports a wheel mouse.

4It is was it is - almost...Nov 12, 2009
By Alan Rosen "A.L.R."
Contrary to other reviewers, I found that all mouse and keyboard functions work quite normally through this switch. At first, some special keyboard operations were failing but after a few reboots and keyboard resets, all works quite well. I'm also using a 27 inch 1080p monitor and it appears fine.

People should note that for USB or wireless mouse or keyboards, there are other switch models designed for that. Use of adapters always poses a risk. The only adapter supported for this product would be VGA to DVI to the monitor.

The annoying part of all this are the deliberately omitted specifications and the carefully "edited" picture of this product. The VGA cables on this switch are NOT the same length! One is 6 feet but the other (clipped from the photo) is only 2 feet. That means the switch will be sitting on top of one of your computers. Fortunately, the remote button to activate the switch is on a cable that is also 6 feet so this can be positioned somewhere accessible and can be attached with an included adhesive Velcro patch.

3Does not work with Vista and Microsoft wireless keyboardAug 29, 2008
By Kumar Moorthy
The switch worked fine with my xp laptop but did not work at all with my Vista desktop with a Microsoft wireless keyboard. Heard different responses from Belkin support but finally appeared to be incompatible with Vista and the Wireless keyboard. The switch worked fine when I plugged in a wired keyboard. Was not willing to give up my Microsoft Natural Wireless keyboard for the sake of the switch. So, returned this one and bought a IOGEAR (GCS42UW6) switch which is compatible.

Wish the product info mentioned incompatible hardware setups clearly. Could have saved me plenty of time and effort.

Prospective buyers please make sure that your hardware setup is compatible with this device before making the purchase. I was told some Microsoft and Logitech wireless keyboards and mice are not compatible with this switch.

Hope that helps.

4Works 95% of the timeJun 11, 2007
By T. Hendryx
I have had problems with the scroll wheel acting strange, but it's easily fixed. This problem usually occurs when I've had my PCs on for days and doesn't always happen to both PCs at once, so I'm not sure if it's the switch or Windows XP. A reboot of one or both machines has always fixed the problem.

5So far, so good.Nov 12, 2010
By John W. Nelson
So far so good. I'm using this to switch between a PC running Unix (real Unix not Linux) and Windows 2003 Server without issues. I don't have a scroll wheel mouse on the system so I can't say if that is an issue or not. I am a bit perplexed by the guy who said he couldn't figure out how to plug in the flip switch. There are only 4 connectors on the box and 3 of them are mouse/keyboard/monitor. There is one connector and one item left to plug it (and the connectors happen to be the same size).

This seems to work fine on a the PC running Unix with Xwindows so far (which is what I was worried about since it's not listed as supported) and works fine on the windows box (which I expected).

I too was surprised by the fact one cable was only about 2 feet long but with the length of the flip switch cable, but it didn't really matter and that allowed me to run all the other cables under my desk to eliminate desk clutter.

I have no complaints.
