The magnet works well and is very flexible. The chain is extremely thin and flimsy. Because it's so light, it doesn't want to fall down into walls as easy as a heavier chain. I'm also worried about it breaking. The magnet was what I really needed anyway, I can always get steel lamp chain at my locksmith.

Mine is coming in the mail, but I recently used one that belongs to a friend of mine. I've been fishing wires for the better part of a decade now, and only just now came across this amazing tool. First let me say, that if you know what you're doing, fishing inside walls is not too difficult a thing, however there are times when luck just isn't on your side and you wind up losing precious time fruitlessly trying to grab a wire you 'know' is where you think it is, but for some reason, is 'not' where you think it is!
With that said, I was amazed at how efficient this extremely simple concept is, a magnet and a metal string. You simply drop the chain in the wall and wiggle the magnet around a few times and voila, the work is 90% done. This is an extreme time saver, and I can't wait til mine arrives on Monday, so I can get to using it!

Update 9/3/3 I've had it for around a week now and so far it's living up to my expectations. I've saved myself a great deal of aggravation just this past week of using this tool. The simplicity and efficiency of this thing is simply blowing my mind. I do have a couple of very minor gripes though. The Noodle is really stiff - a LOT stiffer than I thought. It could benefit from a little little reduction in stiffness which would lend it greater flexibility. The second thing is, the noodle has one end with the magnet in it while the other end is threaded, presumably so one could extend the reach of the noodle. My problem - I spent a few minutes fishing around for the chain wondering why it was being so elusive. I pulled the noodle out, and realized I was using the wrong end, stuck the right end in and the chain was on the magnet first pass. So, yes I realize I should've been paying attention, but maybe this thing could do with some kind of marking to distinguish the two ends, but in the long run, that's nothing a sharpie can't cure.
