This product is great, but my problem was with the shipping.

They're just not packing this properly.

The customer service department was great in replacing the pad after I complained that it was damaged in shipping. But the replacement they sent out, was also damaged in shipping. Both times, the pad was smashed, creased, and wrinkled. I just wish they'd pack it more securely, instead of tossing it in a oversized plastic envelope. Maybe even just a well placed "DO NOT BEND" sticker would have helped.

Firstly, I too avoided buying this product for a whole semester because of worries about the packaging. I tried purchasing several varieties of graph paper with 10 squares per inch, but the grid was just too small. So finally I decided to risk it and try purchasing this product (because I can't find any other with the 8/inch grid). The packaging issues, as another reviewer noted, must have been fixed, because it came in perfect condition in a box similar to a book's, with those big plastic air cushion's around it, perfect condition. If you're worried about the packaging, I'd say don't worry too much, it seems to have been fixed!

Now to the paper: it's wonderful. I have, after two years studying engineering, finally found my perfect paper. The squares are just small enough, and just big enough, and the lines are a lovely light blue. I cannot stand graph paper where pencil barely stands out against the dark grid, and the ink on this paper doesn't do that. My only wish is that there was a darker line every four or eight squares for reference. Ampad has a 10 sq/inch pad with this feature, and I'm not sure why it was left out of these pads. The 8 squares per inch isn't quite as disorienting as 10, but it still would have been useful. I'm not taking a star off for that, though, because it's a personal thing, and not totally necessary, and I want to make up for the bad reviews that the previous packaging method garnered.

All in all: good product.

After reading the reviews about the bad packaging, I apprehensively ordered since I was not able to find 8 squares per inch anywhere else. To my great delight, the pad came in great packaging (similar to how Amazon ships books) and in pristine, impeccable condition. Not sure if Amazon looked at the customer feedback and made the packaging better, but Kudos to Amazon for listening to its customers and constantly looking for ways to improve. (And the pad addresses my exact needs; recommend it).

I ordered two pads of this paper. It's great paper.

The problem is that Amazon packed the two pads very poorly. They were loose in a huge box (about 9" by 7" by 16"), with only a few air-cushion packets -- not even close to enough to hold the pads in place during shipping. So the cardboard backing sheered off, and some additional pages sheered off the back as well.

For the first time ever in the many years I've been using Amazon, I have to contact them about damage in shipping, and it's about such a silly item. But at $7 per pad, this is not acceptable.
