I have asthma. After two attacks, I resorted to a prescription spray inhaler. This worked fine, but was rather expensive. I then decided to try the 3M 7502 half mask with the 3M 7093 Respirator Filter.

This item isn't practical for wearing indoors (if the asthma is that serious), but for me it replaced the spray inhaler for outside conditions (where my respiratory problem occurs). I have not had an asthma attack since wearing the mask with filters (over 5 years). I certainly think this would be a satisfactory solution for allergies as well.

The only drawback (if such it is) is that it makes one look like Darth Vadar ready to invade the neighborhood.

I've been using this filter in my dust mask for several years and was glad I could find replacements on Amazon. Since I don't (currently) have a dust collector or air filter my shop gets plenty dusty especially with sanding, bandsaw use and other fine cuts. These filters work great and last well. I've given up on the disposable filters and purchased mask and filters for my family members that occationally help in the shop. I have allergies and mild asthma and find these a must.
